In today’s world every industry needs Data driven Decision making to solve real life problems. In almost all the areas of human existence – healthcare, transport, business, marketing, Tele Communication, Education, Manufacturing, Security, Entertainment and so on – today’s industries require data for decision making at every step. The data that the industries require are of diverse types – structured, semi structured and unstructured. They may be numeric, Text, audio, image, video, biomedical, seismic and so on.

The industries require the computing professionals who have the skills for acquiring, storing, pre-processing, mining, and analysing the data, which is the most important resource for any industry and organization.
Data Science encompasses several disciplines – statistics, predictive modelling, AI and machine learning, Image and Video Processing, Big Data Analytics , Block Chain techniques etc. to extract useful information from data to solve real-life problems. The conglomerations of high-end computer with huge storage capacity, powerful software algorithms and sophisticated mathematical modelling tools enable us to explore every form of data around us to produce fast insights to make fact-based decisions.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, predicted data scientist jobs to increase by 22 percent by 2020. Program objective:The Program objective of the M.Tech in Computer Science programs with specialization in Machine Learning is to provide very good foundation on different aspects of Computing to the students and then imparting additional exposures to the different spectrum of Data Science so that the students become skilled enough to solve real life problems in Industries.

Program Content :The students of M.Tech in Computer Science with specialization in Machine Learning will learn fundamentals of Probability and statistics, Advanced Data Base Management Systems, mathematical modelling for data analytics, Visualization techniques.

The students will gain knowledge of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and concerned tools and techniques to explore Big Data problem and analyse them to deduce useful information and decision. The several electives will help the students to be specialized in several domains which have high demands in industry.The students will definitely get more exposure in Advanced Machine Intelligence Techniques and applications.

Program Outcome :The students, on completion of the above two M. Tech programs will be skilled enough to solve real problems faced by industries – from healthcare to transportation to finance and business.
