About the Course
The course has been designed to cultivate high skill technocrats keeping in mind to fulfillment of the demand of construction Industry (Housing & Commercial buildings), Transport Industry (Ship, Rail, Cars, Aircraft), Infrastructure (Ports, Pipeline, Oil & Gas, Bridges etc), Automotive industry, Heavy Engineering Industry etc to offer protection & aesthetic to these assets.
Unique Features of the Course
- Only course available in West Bengal and unique in India that is available for science and engineering graduates .
- The 2 years (4 Semesters ) Curriculum include the subjects related to the technology for the manufacturing and application of Paints/Coatings and analysis of their performance properties .
- Summer Internship Training: Every year in the month of May-June, each student need to go for summer internship training in different part of the country (Paint, Coating or Similar Industry)
- Arrangement of lectures of the industrial professionals from various fields of Paint and Coating Industry.
- Placements: CIS department having strong Academic– Industry interaction which supports in off campus placement of the students with high salary in National & MNC companies.
- Several industrial visits throughout the year were arranged by CIS department.
- Already having the existing MoUs with IIT Kharagpur, Mahatma Gandhi University, TCG Life Sciences and other leading research and industrial – institutes in India and across globally.

A candidate who obtained a Bachelor of Science of any recognized university as equivalent to the Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Polymer Science, Industrial Polymer Chemistry, or any branch of Chemistry, or studied Chemistry during B.Tech / BE / Pharma, can directly apply.
