Research Interest:
Research Focus:

Designing Nanoparticulate Systems for Drug Delivery

Design of novel protein/polymer-based nanoformulations for delivery of biomolecules to the intended target region, hence augmenting their antibacterial and anticancer characteristics. These delivery systems have the advantages of regulated release, precise targeting, biodegradability, and efficient encapsulation.

Interaction of Nanomaterials/Ligands with Biological Systems

Our focus is on observing the interactions between the synthesized nanomaterials and various biomacromolecules found in the bloodstream. Any bioactive substance that enters the circulation or systems based on nanomaterials interacts with a variety of biomacromolecules, including lipids, nucleic acids, and serum proteins. The release and transport characteristics of pharmaceuticals are impacted by this kind of interaction. Therefore, it is crucial to look at how proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids interact with systems based on nanoparticles.

Design of Novel Therapeutic Agents for Modulating Protein Aggregation Process

To gain an understanding of the aggregation process mechanism, it would be helpful to know the specifics of how polymers/therapeutic agents interact with amyloid aggregates at various fibrillation phases. This can be used as a useful model to create innovative biopolymer-based inhibitors/anti-amyloidogenic agents that effectively treat neurodegenerative illnesses/non-neuropathic disorders and advance our understanding of protein aggregation.
